Would you like to be know as the best learning and development professional that enables business success and talent management?
Here are my thoughts and tips that will help you take the leap
Thanks to many a conversation about the future of work, the impact of technology and the changing economic climate there feels the pressure to know where my team and I fit in. As a passionate learner and enabler of business success I want to know that I will be more credible in the future than I am today.
The world of learning and development ranges from the ‘old’ style organistion led training departments to new style individually driven learning opportunities for personal development and positioning.
In a world of data, knowledge and skills plenty its always good to focus and build your own credibility so you can position yourself for optimum delivery.
Shortly we will be delivering tasks for optimum outcomes as part of a team that is likely to be together for a minimal period of time. You will have no role title and will be pulled in based on your credibility.
If you are in learning and development today this is how you can help this journey:
Be orchestrators
- Give the opportunity and applications of collaborative tools using technology like AI, internal dialogue and wider industry access
- Allow Individuals holistic, career and role development
- Facilitate the support of performance, productivity and prosperity (wellbeing) of the communities you serve
Be masters
- Assess and keep an eye on business data to define need and adaptations as required
- Define what is needed to be known and what and where to access the rest
- Allow the audience to have access to tools, applications and interventions suited to the context and individual makeup of the learners
Be leaders
- Proactive strategic partners in the delivery of business outputs
- Voice of performance, productivity and prosperity (rather than a dumping ground for ‘quick fixes’)
- Be subject matter experts on how to build sustainable successful organisations for today and future opportunities
When you have all this what do you have? I’d love for you to share your stories of your journeys.
